Earlier this week, I found myself in the mood to grill out. I enjoy the flavors of the grill and the process of preparing and cooking the foods.
There’s nothing quite like turning on the gas grill and it won’t fire up because you ran out of fuel.
When my tank is empty, I take it to a local store and exchange it. They let me give them my empty tank, and they give me a full tank for a price.
You know Christ offers us the same thing. We often run on empty and need refilling. He offers a full tank to all those who come to Him.
Jeremiah writes in Lamentations, “My sin has been formed into a yoke. It has been placed upon my neck. It has broken my strength.”
All of us have formed our own yoke of sin that wears us down. That’s why Jesus said, “Take my yoke. It’s easy and my burden is light.”
Jesus made a yoke of righteousness not one of sin. It’s light and easy compared to what you’ve been carrying.
Here’s the best part. Jesus offers you an exchange. But unlike the local store, there is no fee to make this trade.
Jesus freely takes your yoke of sin and gives you freely his yoke of righteousness.
So how about it? Are you carrying around your yoke of sin? Are you wore out from the burdens you have created? Take Jesus at His word. Take His yoke and lighten your load.
